BEN MORMAN

EVERYDAY ENTREPRENEUR

“All you have to do to get better every day is just do the next right thing.”

As a reformed climber of the corporate ladder, Ben Morman is a staunch advocate for personal responsibility and financial freedom through entrepreneurship.  His career and experiences have spanned many industries and economic cycles always being rooted in his commitment to reflection and self-growth.  All experiences, whether wins or losses, provide insights and opportunities for learning.  It is this constant thirst for improvement that drives Ben. Leaving the world in a better place than he found it, will ensure it is here for many generations to come.

Ben and his beautiful wife, Jesse, have enjoyed the addition of their three small children, Hudson, Lena, and Thatcher.  As a man, Ben pulls his strength from the love and support of his family.  As a husband and father, Ben knows true happiness and fulfillment are in the small fleeting moments of life living for each other.

“Babies can’t control much, but they can control what they hold in their hands.  When my children hug or hold onto me, I can feel the pure love and joy they have for life. It’s imperative I am setting an example for my children and the next generation so they can all be better than their father.”

Ben cut his teeth in business at a young age getting his start in retail management at a big box electronics retailer. After successfully building a team and growing his store – Ben was hooked on building and growing businesses, while also providing quality products and services to consumers.

Ben’s introduction to the industry pushed him to expand and invest in his education.  Recognizing this, he earned his BSBA from Appalachian State University double majoring in both Accounting and Finance & Banking. It was Ben’s mission to get his CPA and climb the corporate ladder.  He wanted to be CEO of the next large corporate giant.

After finishing school, Ben pursued financial roles of increasing responsibility across multiple sectors from public accounting, construction, sales, retail, e-commerce, and clinical research.  In these positions, Ben was able to join and lead many diverse teams across multiple complex industries and geographies, learning the ins and outs of starting, scaling, and improving businesses.  As a true entrepreneur, Ben also learned what not to do.  All these experiences continually stoked the entrepreneurial fire pushing Ben to begin investing in rental real estate obtaining both his real estate broker’s license and insurance license in the spring and summer of 2021.

After being made redundant through another corporate synergy exercise, Ben found himself pondering his next move.  With the birth of his third child on the horizon, Ben realized how tired he was of someone else having a say in his financial income and success.  It was then he decided to liquidate his assets and enter the world of entrepreneurship full-time.

Ben now owns and operates a portfolio of small businesses and brands invested in the Insurance, Pet Food, Financial Services, Hemp, and Real Estate Industries.  These businesses are in varying stages of the business cycle and are all anchored around Ben’s passion for providing the best quality product and services supported by the best possible customer service

“I’m interested in building businesses I believe in and am passionate about,” he said. “That passion is what is going to help me take The BMOR Group to the next level, but more importantly, it’s going to give me the experience I need to hopefully inspire others who are considering the path of entrepreneurship.”

Each month, Ben Morman Everyday Entrepreneur will share stories – of the successes and challenges – facing him on his journey. By chronicling what he did right, and not so right, it’s his hope that his offering of critical guidance will help budding businesspeople not make some of the missteps he has experienced during the past decade. As a result of taking the road less traveled, Ben considers himself a relationship-centered, driven, organized, and adaptable professional with strong leadership and decision-making skills.

“I have demonstrated a track record of success in roles of increasing responsibility across multiple sectors from public accounting, construction, sales, retail, e-commerce, and clinical research,” he said. “I learned to join and lead many diverse teams across multiple complex industries and geographies, learning the ins and outs of starting, scaling, and improving businesses.”
